I AM MOVING TO TEXAS

I'm supposed to be cleaning out the kid's closets. But I have wanted to blog and have been utterly held in silence. For a while. My husband is (the nicest man in the world. I am so lucky.)

He got a great new job in a big old state.

In seven days we caravan down south towards Austin Texas.

AUSTIN!

That's the cool part of Texas. :)

When I get there .. and maybe this week, I'll blog more.

Does anyone in Texas read my blog? (echo echo echo)

Hmm.

Well! Wish me luck. Help me pack. Wanna adopt my kitty? Or house plants?

DUDE!

Texas is so fun! I love Austin. You are absolutely right--it is the cool part. We used to go down to Austin a lot when I was a kid. And San Antonio is only about an hour's drive from Austin and it is one of the most fun cities in the world.

Good luck with the move! I wish I could give you a hand with the cat situation but I'm not allowed to have pets in my townhouse, plus I'm allergic to cats, plus I don't really like cats anyway. But I totally would otherwise!

Congrats! And just as In-n-Out Burger is moving in to Texas. I have lived all of my life in one state, within two neighboring counties, so I can' relate to such a move.

Now, just in case you were planning on committing murder, keep in mind that Texas has a revolving door on their death chamber. They executed another one this week.

Again, congrats!

OMG. Be sure you go to Thorndale, where my mother is from. As I recall from my childhood, they have pixie sticks, soft serve ice cream and chiggers. Can't believe it!

Holy crap! I wondered why there was a sign in your yard. What a fun new adventure! Marcos' cousin just got a job in Houston. I know, different town, but still. They move this weekend. Um, I'm not sure we're ready for a cat, but I think we could handle houseplants. I'll try really hard not to kill them. :)

I live in Texas. It is hot. Austin is amazing and I strongly urge you to seek out the Magnolia Cafe' and Zilker Park for Crepes ASAP.

Oh, it will be a wonderful new adventure. Enjoy it. I'm dying to move. You are so lucky. Good luck with the little ones. I don't know how your kids are handling it, but when I was little I was a little cranky-pants hellion when we moved (twice). BiG Moves. One was a change of country. Anyway, good luck with everything.

I can't wait to read about all the fun new things you get to do there.

It is an adventure and Crichton ought to make a pretty amazing film about the whole thing:) Tell him I'm waiting for the big release:) Love you guys! Wish I could take your kitty!

Wow!!!

They have the largest Whole Foods in the whole world!!!!

And Schlitterbahn...it's a fabulous waterpark not far from there.

And the burritos!!

Although it is southern, you know? (Apparently, on a recent visit to Winston-Salem, I learned that we Chicagoans are 'yankees' but I don't know where westerners fit into that equation.....however, I am told that Austin is also all hippie-cool and stuff)

You are living my dream, you know...just picking up and moving far far away. Lucky, lucky you!

Are you bringing your mom?

Umm, is there a reason you are not taking kitty with you?

Catherine

PS...sorry for not commenting in a long time, it has been a h--- of a summer for me (sigh).
