I got a Flu-Snort today, y'know, the mist up your nose flu inoculation. Me and my 2 yr old.I have a headache and a fever; Canon has a fever.
Did you know, the Flu-Snort is a live virus? Weakened, but live.
So I just had a nurse shove flu virus up mine and my kid's nose. I just PAID to feel crappy and have a whiny kid.
How stupid am I?
I've never had much reaction from the flu shot before, but today... maybe it was last night's late night fight, but, I'm going for fast food for lunch today. The snort was painless, but I feel sick. Psychosomatic, maybe, but my kid is sitting quietly and that is not normal.
2 Brilliant Bits of Inspiration:
All vaccinations and inoculations are live viruses, aren't they? I thought the idea was to give you a mild form of the illness to build a resistance to the severe form of the illness.
Some, not all. The flu shot contains a dead virus so it would be unable to cause any flu-like symptoms. Even if the virus is dead, the body develops the immunity and is ready to fight it when you are exposed. The live virus is more effective for giving you an immunity, but you may feel it. I'm all better today and so are my kiddos. So it's not a big deal, just 24 hour inconvenient.
Flu can kill - get your flu shot or flu snort today! (or so say the guys who make flu shots)
