Literally

Crichton (6) is getting to that stage where you can have real conversations with him, he's getting to the age where he will remember this part of his life. He's also getting to be something of an arrogant smartypants. I find it amusing, but his grandparents ... not so much.

Yesterday he told me he had two dollars in his wallet and he wanted to go deposit them in his savings account (he likes to check it on line and it hasn't grown much since we opened it).

"You still have that?" I asked, I gave it to him a week ago and though surly he'd lost it or spent it by now.

"It was sitting on the counter forever!" says grandma.

"Grandma, you are a big liar!" declares the boy.

"Crichton, don't call your grandma a liar."

"No, I saw it on that counter for days and days," Grandma tries to rebut.

"But forever is always and it is not STILL on the counter so it was not on the counter forever and you ARE a liar."

What does a mom say to that? Technically, he's right.

"Grandma was exaggerating, not lying."

"Grandma always exaggerates."
