To Canon

Dear Sweet Canon,

The very thought of you make me smile. You have increased the joy in my already happy life.

Two days ago, you were in my room watching shows while I took a shower. When I got out of the shower, I peeked in to check on you. You were standing on my window seat, behind the wooden blinds, leaning against the screen of my wide open window. Panic filled my heart as I quickly closed and locked the window. Since then, the thought of you falling out the window and down to the ground has filled me with anxiety. I know you're just 2, but please, please, be more careful! And I will, too.

I love your strength and the effort you put into everything you do. You're at this amazing stage of life where you are somewhat able to express yourself: you have opinions and ideas and questions. The world is an interesting and fun place. There are no fears or worries. Nothing bad can happen that mommy can't kiss better. I hope, by some miracle, that you are able to hold on to a little of that as you grow up.

Mommy loves you so much. Hugs and kisses and tickles. You silly little creature,

Mom
