3 AM And All Is Well

I can't sleep.

Got a little something on my mind - in my uterus.

My bag is packed, the house is as clean as it's going to get, which is pretty darn clean, the arrangements have all been made.

Now I'm just waiting. My back is killing me, pain shooting down my legs, my tummy is unhappy, dreadful heartburn - might I recommend NOT eating Taco Bell for your last meal before surgery, Blarg!

I just can't sleep.

Maybe I'm having real contractions or just awfully painful Braxton Hicks contractions, either way, I'm nervous, gassy, and uncomfortable.

I finished off my novel - taking 2 more to the hospital - read Ember - a very good children's book. My husband and I were just discussing how some of the best fiction we've read lately is from the children and young adult genres. And when we venture into adult works of fiction, it usually amounts to smutty tripe. Children's books don't resort to profanity and sex to move their plot lines along; I appreciate that.

I haven't seen 3 am in a long long time. I guess, with new baby girl, I'll likely be seeing a lot more of it. It's kind of nice and quiet.
