Here Is Your Brain; Here Is Your Brain On Drivel

That model chick who married Seal, Heidi, was on Ellen. Tiny little unsittable skirt. Innuendo with Heidi's Famous Balls. But my laundry is folded and put away now.

Oprah teaches about Freegans (aka, dumpster divers with a savings account), who are making a political statement about the gross consumerism in America, in between commercial breaks. Then there's Suburban mom who strips. "Why did you want to come on my show?" Oprah asks. Gee, maybe cuz she's wants to write and then sell a bazilllion books about her silly life choices and how great it works for her. No one interviews the kids. Where's the dad? What about child support. And what about the crap these kids will endure once everyone at school sees there mom in her panties on national TV? Sure she's got a great body, but the guys who ogle mommy's boobs are not gentlemen.

During the breaks she recommends we all sign up for her new on-line class, based around the book A New Earth. Interestingly, I got one of those emails (which I am so grateful for!!!! I love every conspiracy I hear) warning me about this book, that it is reinventing Jesus for the new age and amount to blasphemy.

Before I lit my torch, I went to Amazon to check out some reviews, maybe buy it. Lots and lots of 5 stars (218 thus far). 20 1 stars; I went there to research. I think this one is just another Secret. But with even more religiosity. One review, praising the book, thought it did a great job of jiving modern philosophy with the teachings of Jesus.

My email disagreed. It said the book teaches that there is no sin and that "The Atonement is the final lesson he [man] need learn, for it teaches him that, never having sinned, he has no need of salvation." Not exactly sure where it's trying to take me, but anyone who had experience with molested children can pretty much verify that sin does in fact exist. I think (and again, forgive me for not having read the book before reviewing it - oh my hypocrisy, will it ever end??) this book intends to make people feel better about themselves and get their friends to buy it.

I will never never never be of the mindset that there is no right and wrong, that you can have and do anything by thinking it so, or that merely saying "Jesus is my personal savior" will get you a free ticket to heaven.

The stripper mom said, "[Stripping is] what I do; it's not who I am." I think that is perhaps the greatest UNtruth I have ever heard. You ARE what you DO. You love what you pay attention to. You can't have it both ways. I am a mom. That is who I am. I am a blogger. I am a wife. I am a teacher. A dancer, singer, lazy bum, hefty hard worker. All that I do is what I am and to deny that is a lie. I AM what I do.

Is Oprah getting canceled soon? Isn't this her last year? If nothing else, she gives me some critical analysis time ... in school, whatever the teacher or professor said was Truth. Independent Study and personal enrichment has changed that about me. And I'm glad. I might be wrong, but at least I'm thinking and coming to my own conclusions, rather than taking it all in.
