This morning I got up early to exercise and fell off my treadmill with in the first minute of walking. I also neglected to hook the safety-turn-off-clip to myself, so the conveyor belt continued to rotate as I was momentarily stuck against the machine and the wall. It gave me some nice road rash on my ankle and hand. I'm not graceful, but add a cute ever-fatter belly to throw off my center of balance, and watch Sir Issac Newton's little theory work its magic me. Good thing baby is cushioned with layers of cellulite and amniotic fluid.
Before I fell, Bob Lonsberry, a Mormon radio guy on 570 KNRS radio announced that Fidel Castro was likely dead, as he will not be president of Cuba anymore. After my fall, after Bob gave his personal rendition of Cuban history (which made it evident that he clearly does not support Communism), and he said he hopes Fidel Castro is dead or in a lot of pain for bringing Communism to the people of Cuba.
Now, Bob also would like the US to build a huge wall on the Mexican border and deport all illegal immigrants. BUT the thing that bugs me, is people who listen to him hear him talk about the LDS faith and speak like something of an authority (although he often proclaims his lack thereof) - Well, I don't want people to think we all think like him. I don't agree with him on immigration and I think one ought not wish anyone death or pain, regardless. But, ESPECIALLY if one can be considered an example of one's CHRISTIAN religion. You could say I am a poor example of my religion at times and, because I'm blogging, which makes my views available to the world, I should watch myself, but ... ok, there's no but, I should be more careful and so should Bob.
I think America should always be an open country who welcomes immigrants and visitors and makes it not difficult to come and go. I do not however want to get blown up by terrorist bombs, or if that is my destiny, I hope I die before I realize what happened. Death is not the worst thing that happens ... not being able to feed your children or give them a decent place to live, or get health care for a sick loved one of any age would be worse. Not being able to provide a good education for your children would suck, too. Sometimes I think that holy moral religious right of our country, that supposed large republican block of voters, ought to maybe read the New Testament again to refamiliarize themselves with Christ, whose name they sully by taking it as their own ... because I just can't get my head around how it's ever okay to start wars or refuse to help a neighbor, share your wealth with others in need, or all the other things that entail putting me and mine ahead of you and yours.
That's all - God bless and forgive America.

Applause. Next time, please tune the radio to another station. We cannot make that world sane, but we can make our world sane and safe too by practicing peace and hooking the safety clip.
